Well guys, we made it this far. It's incredible to think that we have had so many followers and so many listeners tune in each week to LoWdown and Breakdown/Showdown in such a short time. We truly couldn't have done this without each and everyone of you.
There have been so many fans who have helped keep us positive and reassuring us that the shows and content we produce is to an enjoyable standard. I have been told that people listen to our shows when they are working out, cycling to work, on the train or there was even one case where one of our followers messaged me from a wedding saying he had hid in his hotel room to hear the show before going out. This kind of thing is what makes everything about this more enjoyable. You guys are really the life blood behind this project and we, all of the LoW family, are just the body to help get the work out there.
Over the last year we have had so many ups and downs between losing Wrencis to whatever black hole sucked him up and all the way to developing our own android app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.levels.main).
I know for fact there have been people out there and shows. who will remain unnamed for the time being, that believed we wouldn't make it past 5 shows. Those people fueled me personally just to ensure I could prove every bastarding one of them wrong.
But on to bigger and better things. In the last 12 months we have released an app, interviewed former TNA star Gunner and former WWE star JTG as well as setting up interviews with current TNA star BRAM, we have released our own t-shirts (https://www.teepublic.com/user/LevelsOfWrestling) and we have gained over 8000 followers on twitter.
Our biggest accomplishment by far was recruiting several fantastic podcasts in the form of Mind Of Carnage, #JustSayin, Ringside Ramblers and Wrestle Addicts. Alongside these 4 shows we have began to travel down the road to my final goal and create the LoW family. Oh and please don't think that the LoW family is just the shows involved with us. Each and everyone of you, our supporters and followers are LoW family.

Here's The Deal
Rarely do I give my opinion on fans as I try to remain as positive as I can because this is as we know wrestling fans can be very passionate. But it's that passion that makes me want to discuss this very topic. A vast majority of people will read this and be upset with the things I am about to say but sadly it is something a lot of fans struggle to see.
For the sake of this blog we are not going to reference the IWC as more or less everyone who has the internet now. Instead we will reference what most call the IWC as the full time fans.
WWE's market is not aimed primarily at full time fans. There is a select amount of WWE's promotion that is aimed at full time fans. It's hard to see as someone who views the product as just a fan but when you look at the product like someone who is invested financially in the show then it's a completely understandable situation.
In knowledge that may surprise many people WWE actually became a publicly traded company all the way back in 1999. So when WWE was at, as many fans see it, their peek back in 2001 they were already a company under a PG label for shows like Smackdown. Raw didn't join the PG label until nearly 2006 but it should be noted that many fans believed Smackdown to be the better brand during the brand expansion. If this is to believed as true then the PG rating never effected shows then and certainly shouldn't effect shows now. So the fans who have watched for years on a regular basis who have been blaming the PG rating are completely off the mark.

The use of cultural and social knowledge allows WWE to bring in new fans and new sponsors who may invest in the product. Realistically what it comes down to is that fans need to remember that WWE is a business. A business that wants to succeed. PG was never the problem and still isn't. The issue is the creative team being filtered by one man but that won't change when that man is gone either.
Just try and watch each show with an open mind and treat it like you would any other TV show. There is a start, middle and end. Sometimes stories get dropped. Sometimes characters are cut. Sometimes there are alternative shows to watch.

Character Breakdown - John Cena
In this article I aim to give you a different perspective on current day characters in wrestling. For the first installment in this series I present John Cena.
For the past 13 years people have referred to John Cena as the wrestling equivalent of Superman but there was something recently that sparked my attention. During "Wrestling isn't wrestling" by Max Landis he makes a reference to John Cena being Superman but he is similar due to having the same annoying traits. I agree. I completely agree but I question. Have we looked at it the wrong way?
What do people dislike about Superman? He has to do what is right. He has to be good. He has to be pure and true to himself. But if these are the things we see in John Cena then maybe John Cena isn't Superman. Because Superman is also unbreakable, an alien who doesn't fit in, he is a team player at times. These are things John Cena is not. So maybe John Cena can't be Superman. But if these dislike-able traits are to be believed then maybe John Cena is the class nerd that we all hated in school.
Think about it. He has to be right. He believes everything he stands for is the correct thing. Just like that kid in school, the one who pandered to teacher to make sure their intelligence was acknowledged, John Cena plays to the audience by showing just how pure of heart he is. He constantly reminds us how he will never do the bad things in life. He is, in the words of R-truth, "a propaganda tool". He is what we are meant to believe we should be and that is exactly why we fight against him.
It's like Cena's character is just the shining example of everything the human spirit is meant to strive to achieve but at the same time humans hate being told what to do because it argues with our rights.
People are meant to aim to be pure, be good, brush our teeth 3 times a day, eat our vitamins and say our prayers. John Cena does all these things so why do we hate him? The wrestling fans dislike him because they don't like being told how to feel or being told what to do and that is why the majority feel like they have had John Cena shoved down their throat. I would even bet that the majority of people who dislike John Cena disliked their classroom teachers pet.
We are lead to believe that this ideology of perfection is everything we should strive for and that we should want to be like that but why would we want something that everyone believes is impossible? Perfection is a personal thing and cannot be determined or forced upon someone.
Let me ask you this. If John Cena is perfect then why is he always trying to prove that he can beat someone? Why, Roman, Why?
Has there ever been a better time to be a pro wrestling fan than right now? Independent wrestling is at an all time high, New Japan has its own version of the WWE Network, Lucha Underground is tearing up wednesday nights & thats not even including WWE. WrestleMania 31 was one of the best Mania’s in recent memory and in my opinion, a top 3 of all time. NXT is lauded by many as the best weekly wrestling product out there. As you can see, if you’re a fan of pro wrestling there is something out there you’re going to love. It would seemingly be impossible to be an unhappy wrestling fan right? Have you ever been on twitter or listened to a podcast? There is a large section of the audience that will never, ever be happy and they reside in those two places. Armed with notebooks full of fantasy booking ideas for the next decade and a set of internet muscles that would make Brock Lesnar back away, these fans are unfortunately very loud, influential and have set their sights on Roman Reigns.
For those not familiar, Roman Reigns is a 6 foot 3, 265 pounds Samoan deity. To say he is a sight to behold is an understatement. Half Greek god, half super hero. The man has THE look and more importantly the faith of those within WWE. He has the bloodlines, part of the Anoa’i family, and the legitimacy of being a former pro football player. I’m sure the first time WWE brass laid eyes on him they saw dollar signs. He steamrolled through FCW and NXT on his path to the main roster. WWE knew he was going to be their guy and to make sure they surrounded this relatively unknown commodity with two known, young veteran talents; Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to be known as The Shield. These three would quickly become one of the most dominant factions in company history. The trio destroyed everyone on the roster and even picked up some gold on the way, tag titles for Reigns and Rollins, US Title for Ambrose. They were the hottest act out there and the fans recognized that, slowly the boos turned to cheers in a very organic way. Rollins as the architect and high flier, Ambrose as the lunatic that could rival The Joker and Reigns as the unstoppable juggernaut. It was a perfect formula with the perfect guys. Reigns was ready to breakout after the 2014 Royal Rumble that saw him set a record for most eliminations. You could feel that this guy was going to be a big star and the crowd let it be known that they agreed. Seth Rollins eventually turned on his Shield brothers and voila, three stars were made. Reigns was almost immediately thrown into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture, because this is what the fans wanted remember. Bad luck would strike Reigns during the fall when he was forced to miss time due to a hernia and this was the beginning of the end. During the annual Slammy Awards, Roman was voted SuperStar of the year and the hate train was now at full steam. Who knows if the voting was real or not, it didn't matter, the fans had made up their minds. It had to be rigged, there was no way Roman was better than Daniel Bryan or Dolph Ziggler was screamed from parents basements everywhere. Saddled with a few bad promos and a “make Roman look strong” quote from CM Punk on his way to the Royal Rumble only made things worse.
Now not only could he not wrestle but he couldn't talk either was the preach. A large portion of live audiences had started booing Reigns, we’ll get to the potential reasons in a bit, but nonetheless he won the Royal Rumble and was on his way to the main event at WrestleMania. Fans booed him out of the building, even sharing the ring with The Rock didn't help, his moment was hijacked by a hostile Philly crowd. The company had hitched their wagon to Reigns, there was no turning back. Sure, they tried to appease those fans and had a nonsensical match at FastLane against Daniel Bryan. At FastLane, Roman hung with one of the best wrestlers on the planet, he should've been a made man. “Roman was carried by Bryan” was heard throughout social media. The build up to WrestleMania was less than stellar, but it didn't matter, he was main eventing the biggest show of the year against Brock Lesnar and nobody could take that away from him. Leading up to Mania, Roman was everywhere, he was the face of WWE. He was all over tv, looking and carrying himself like a Hollywood star. On Sunday, March 29th Roman Reigns gave Brock Lesnar the fight of his life in front of 70,000 plus booing fans. Within seconds of the bell ringing Brock was bleeding, this was more than a match, it was a fight for respect. 5 years into his wrestling career, he was in the main event of WrestleMania….wow. Eventhough he didn't walk out of Mania as champ, his former Shield brother Seth Rollins did, he could hold his head high. He showed to everyone that he is in Lesnar’s league, a claim very few can make. He took Brock’s best and asked for more, you’d think that would be enough to change peoples minds. That wasn't the case, the night after Mania the boos were louder and more fierce than ever.
How did this happen? How did the guy WE chose to cheer and accept as the next big thing, become a face that was jeered more than Cena? Many will tell you “he isn’t ready.” A broad, general statement that says something and nothing simultaneously. Forget the fact that all his peers rush to his defense and assure us that he is indeed the present and future of the business. Also, forget the fact that he has been main eventing tv and ppv, in some capacity, since his call up to the main roster. WE know better, remember. “He isn’t ready” is a completely subjective term that only those within WWE know the true meaning of. Many fans will also tell you “its too much too soon.” Yet again, WE the all knowing Internet Wrestling Community have all the answers. How can we determine what is too much for this guy to handle? This isn’t the territory days where young guys had to pay their dues. Don’t remember hearing a lot of people complaining when Brock Lesnar was given the keys to the kingdom within months of his debut. No, he isn't an “Indy darling” either and that is one of the underlying reasons for the hate. So what if he wasn't worked a bingo hall with 8 people in the crowd. While guys like Cesaro were wrestling around the world, Roman was a college and then professional athlete. This guy wasn't a model, actor or some guy off the street, he was a legitimate athlete. Does he have family connections in the business, of course but hes the one that has put in the work to get himself into this position. For many fans, this is looked at as him getting handed a spot and push because of who he knows.It would be naive of me to ignore who his family is. I’m sure that got his foot in the door but he still put in the work to get himself where he is today. If fans are going to hold the family connection over his head, they have to do the same for The Rock, Dustin Rhodes, Randy Orton, Randy Savage and The Funks.
“He can’t wrestle and has a limited move set.” Is Roman a technical wizard in the ring like Ricky Steamboat? Of course not, but he’s no Giant Gonzalez either. The man has been wrestling for 5 years, I’ll say that one more time, five years. He’s 29 years old and only been at this for 5 years, he’s only going to improve. It’s scary to think how good he’ll be in another 5 years but fans can’t even see 5 minutes from now. Pro wrestling, especially WWE, isnt about how many moves you can do, it’s knowing what to do and when. I consider Jerry Lawler to be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, he put on plenty of great matches using only punches, headlocks, a piledriver and facial expressions. Look back at the WrestleMania main event, look at how he responds to the beating that Brock is dishing out. The man is getting it handed to him and what does he do, he smiles and asks for more. That is brilliant storytelling that means more than any moonsault or hurricanrana could. Who they want today is not necessarily who they’ll want tomorrow. How can WWE long term book when their audience has ADD? The days of booking 6 months in advance are gone, they can’t even book 6 weeks from now. WWE is unlike any other form of entertainment, as you already know. What truly makes pro wrestling great is the ability to change stories on the fly depending on crowd reaction. How many television shows can do that? That flexibility is both a blessing and a curse though. They can’t always push the star the fans want, it isn't feasible story or money wise. Sure they listen to us, but only to a point. At the end of the day it is a business and the goal of any business is to make money.
“He isn’t Daniel Bryan”. Now this one is at least a smarter look at why fans would boo him. Daniel Bryan is the most “over babyface” since The Attitude Era. His meteoric rise was the definition of an organic push, the fans were so loud and vocal WWE couldn't ignore them. Unfortunately, years of abusing his body in the ring caught up to him. After missing 6 months of action, Bryan was ready to come back at the Royal Rumble. Now then, in a perfect world Bryan would’ve won the Rumble and reclaimed his spot as top babyface. This isn’t a perfect world. They put all this time, effort and long term plans in place for Bryan but all for naught. Injuries come with the territory and obviously Bryan never intended on all of them catching up to him. WWE has to weigh the risk/reward factor when it comes to Bryan. Yes, he is incredibly popular and should be at the top of the card but at the same time you can’t risk getting snakebit again. If Bryan had not missed any time or came back a bit sooner, we may not be having this conversation. “He needs to get rid of the contacts.” This is an actual quote from someone on twitter, no kidding. Roman wears colored contacts, this is a very calculated decision. For fans to go to these lengths to justify their hatred is ridiculous. Envy and jealousy have to play a part in this, i would be a fool if I didn't recognize that. I guarantee you I can go on twitter right now and within 8 seconds find either a picture or a comment regarding how attractive Roman is. It’s not opinion, it's fact. He is one handsome man, get over it! If that is your reason for hating and booing the man, you need more help than I can provide.
We live in a very jaded world, thats just the way society is. The days of anything being universally loved are long gone, especially in pro wrestling, and that’s fine. I’m glad everybody doesn’t agree on everything but just be open minded and form your own opinion. I may come off as a Roman Reigns fans but I’m not. Truth be told, I haven’t had a favorite WWE SuperStar in years. I’m simply a fan of pro wrestling. Where did it all go wrong? What changed in the fans minds? I’ve laid out a few ideas and its probably a combination of all of them for some fans. Can he be fixed? Yes and no. A majority of fans will say to turn him heel, which is the absolute wrong answer. It sends the message thats the fans own the product and that cannot happen. Stay the course, just like John Cena before him. Accept that he is essentially the new Cena, in terms of a mixed reaction. For the Reigns fans out there, don’t take the boos and comments personally. Anger only breeds anger, thats what the block button is for. Whether you like it or you don’t, Roman Reigns is the future of WWE. Believe that.

“He can’t wrestle and has a limited move set.” Is Roman a technical wizard in the ring like Ricky Steamboat? Of course not, but he’s no Giant Gonzalez either. The man has been wrestling for 5 years, I’ll say that one more time, five years. He’s 29 years old and only been at this for 5 years, he’s only going to improve. It’s scary to think how good he’ll be in another 5 years but fans can’t even see 5 minutes from now. Pro wrestling, especially WWE, isnt about how many moves you can do, it’s knowing what to do and when. I consider Jerry Lawler to be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, he put on plenty of great matches using only punches, headlocks, a piledriver and facial expressions. Look back at the WrestleMania main event, look at how he responds to the beating that Brock is dishing out. The man is getting it handed to him and what does he do, he smiles and asks for more. That is brilliant storytelling that means more than any moonsault or hurricanrana could. Who they want today is not necessarily who they’ll want tomorrow. How can WWE long term book when their audience has ADD? The days of booking 6 months in advance are gone, they can’t even book 6 weeks from now. WWE is unlike any other form of entertainment, as you already know. What truly makes pro wrestling great is the ability to change stories on the fly depending on crowd reaction. How many television shows can do that? That flexibility is both a blessing and a curse though. They can’t always push the star the fans want, it isn't feasible story or money wise. Sure they listen to us, but only to a point. At the end of the day it is a business and the goal of any business is to make money.
“He isn’t Daniel Bryan”. Now this one is at least a smarter look at why fans would boo him. Daniel Bryan is the most “over babyface” since The Attitude Era. His meteoric rise was the definition of an organic push, the fans were so loud and vocal WWE couldn't ignore them. Unfortunately, years of abusing his body in the ring caught up to him. After missing 6 months of action, Bryan was ready to come back at the Royal Rumble. Now then, in a perfect world Bryan would’ve won the Rumble and reclaimed his spot as top babyface. This isn’t a perfect world. They put all this time, effort and long term plans in place for Bryan but all for naught. Injuries come with the territory and obviously Bryan never intended on all of them catching up to him. WWE has to weigh the risk/reward factor when it comes to Bryan. Yes, he is incredibly popular and should be at the top of the card but at the same time you can’t risk getting snakebit again. If Bryan had not missed any time or came back a bit sooner, we may not be having this conversation. “He needs to get rid of the contacts.” This is an actual quote from someone on twitter, no kidding. Roman wears colored contacts, this is a very calculated decision. For fans to go to these lengths to justify their hatred is ridiculous. Envy and jealousy have to play a part in this, i would be a fool if I didn't recognize that. I guarantee you I can go on twitter right now and within 8 seconds find either a picture or a comment regarding how attractive Roman is. It’s not opinion, it's fact. He is one handsome man, get over it! If that is your reason for hating and booing the man, you need more help than I can provide.
We live in a very jaded world, thats just the way society is. The days of anything being universally loved are long gone, especially in pro wrestling, and that’s fine. I’m glad everybody doesn’t agree on everything but just be open minded and form your own opinion. I may come off as a Roman Reigns fans but I’m not. Truth be told, I haven’t had a favorite WWE SuperStar in years. I’m simply a fan of pro wrestling. Where did it all go wrong? What changed in the fans minds? I’ve laid out a few ideas and its probably a combination of all of them for some fans. Can he be fixed? Yes and no. A majority of fans will say to turn him heel, which is the absolute wrong answer. It sends the message thats the fans own the product and that cannot happen. Stay the course, just like John Cena before him. Accept that he is essentially the new Cena, in terms of a mixed reaction. For the Reigns fans out there, don’t take the boos and comments personally. Anger only breeds anger, thats what the block button is for. Whether you like it or you don’t, Roman Reigns is the future of WWE. Believe that.

Superstar In The Mirror
Currently Dean Ambrose is seems to be in a very unusual place on the roster. He isn't at the top, he isn't at the bottom. Fans love to cheer him and they love to see him get crazy but the WWE doesnt seem to know what to do with him. This is what leads me to see him in a different light to many. people often reference him as a copy of Bryan Pillman or as a mix of Tommy Dreamer and Mick Foley but I see him following the same career path as one CM Punk.
At the beginning of his WWE career CM Punk remained in OVW for far too long and the same can be seen in Ambrose's run in NXT. No one wanted him on the main roster, no one believed he had drawing power and no one believed he could be a household name. With CM Punk he was lucky to have been brought up by Paul Heyman but this is where Ambrose differs. He was brought up as a product of NXT as part of The Shield who, as it may well be known, was meant to have been part of a CM Punk plan. So the man who is almost CM Punk in career stand point is brought up by CM Punk? Seem too good to be true right? Well let me provide you with another point.
When CM Punk started on the main roster he was cheered and then swiftly booed as he came up through ECW taking on the ECW original stars. This went on for about a year. Now look in the mirror. Dean Ambrose came up and was cheered for interrupting a Cena match and then was swiftly booed as he began attacking the stars on the main roster.
And now he has became a babyface in a dead area much like CM Punk did when he tagged with Kofi and ended up in Survivor Series matches with DX.
Dean Ambrose currently has two options. Sink or swim. Much like CM Punk did. So I offer the following option.
It's not hard. Ambrose has stated in several interviews that he prefers being a heel. CM Punk preferred being a heel. DO YOU SEE WHAT IM GETTING AT? CM Punk was at his best when he was heel. Look back at the tapes and you will see Punk at his best when he fought Jeff Hardy or when he brought up the Straight Edge Society with Luke Gallows. The WWE lacks strong heels. I realise they have heel characters but they only have two dislike heels in Stephanie McMahon and Seth Rollins. Why not give the fans a new breed of heel. One who can work up through the midcard and then up to the main roster? I suggest giving Dean Ambrose MITB this year. Let him work on being the sleazy heel who hates his fans. Let him show how good a heel he can be. take example from John Moxley.

So You're A REAL Wrestling Fan?
Wrestling is much like any form of entertainment but there is a certain stigma when it comes to the idea of discussing what it is to be a true wrestling fan. The aim of this article is to correct those who judge others for not being a "real wrestling" fan. Hopefully with a little bit of investigation we can get to the root of the situation and define what a wrestling fan is.
In order to understand the term "Real Wrestling Fan" we must first look at the definitions of the words individually. The Oxford English dictionary describes "REAL" as the following;
"Actually existing as a thing or occurring in fact; not imagined or supposed"
Now if this definition is not real enough (pun intended) for you then we can site another source. Thefreedictionary.com defines "REAL" as;
"Being or occurring in fact or actuality"
If these sources are to be believed then we can safely assume anyone with the ability to show interest in wrestling or having a conversation about "real wrestling fans" is in fact real. There is no denying that. Now this leads us to the definition of fan.
"A person who shows a strong interest in or admiration for a particular thing or person"
In it's purest form - those who enjoy something.
Now as someone who often contributes to conversations on social media and someone who witnesses people everyday being branded as "fake" fans I find it hard to believe that it is actually possible to label someone as anything other than a "real" anything. I mean surely the only thing that can denounce any person as anything but real would be a higher power (if there is such a thing). The ideology of someone or something denouncing someone or something as "fake" suggests the individual would feel they are above the subject at hand. Let us be clear. THIS IS NEVER THE CASE. Regardless of whatever topic or subject is being discussed it will always be above those discussing it because without the original topic there is no dispute or case of discussion and this shows an improper lack of respect.
This is one of the main reasons the IWC is a difficult thing to be involved with. The lack of respect of some individuals within the community is actually much lower than that of the level they receive. If the community was equal however there would very rarely be deemed as exciting or full of life. This however does not mean there can't be mutual respect and understanding when it comes to the idea that fans are all alike. Some fans know little and have only just joined the product, some fans have watched for years but know very little. It's a simple solution. Be fair to each other and don't judge because someone may know less about something than you. Instead of judging try bringing up a way where they could learn from something you know and vise versa.

Creative Can Be Creative
I think we have all watched WWE at some point and said "That's not how I would have booked it" or even "Man i could have done a much better job."
There is nothing wrong with this situation other than the fact that 9 times out of 10 the product usually sucks. I understand that a product will not always be 100% and can not always be 100% but there is no excuse for missing out on good story telling. Now please know that what I am about to discuss is not an elaboration on how Creative teams in wrestling should book stories. That is a situation that too many writers feel they know everything about when really we know very little. This topic is about what a company can do to remain creative.
Today's fans are almost polar opposites to those fans in the early 50s and there is no denying it. But this doesn't mean that we will be amazed by the same things. The newer generation of fans has a more open grasp on story lines due to the ever expanding use of dirt sheets and rumor websites. Many will tell you that the internet has ruined wrestling but I do not believe this to be the case. I believe the inability of wrestling writers to expand their field of study on the lack of interesting stories.
Rarely will we see a story line that blurs the lines of truth and kayfabe. Fans find it hard become invested in stories that they can already work out the pathways to. I mean when you had The Undertaker debut at Survivor Series very few people knew that would happen so it had bigger impact. Creative stories would be much the same if there wasn't rumors that were leaked occasionally but we, as fans, demand to know everything. This is where rumor mills come in. Everyone reads them. At one point or other a wrestling fan has visited one of these sites. So why hasn't WWE began using these sites to their advantage?
For example, superstar returns get ruined by these sites reporting where and when a superstar has been spotted etc so why not pay these sites to report the exact opposite? Is it really that hard? Much easier than trying to keep creative ideas between the writers and roster as there are far too many variables to keep up with.
Another example of being creative in order to blur the lines would be to start using more relevant stories. If fans do learn about something within the business then why not just turn the whole lot on it's head? Imagine a fan finds out a superstar is dating another superstar or that one star had a real fight with another star, now imagine taking all that speculation and all those rumors and creating your own rumor/story to link it all together so it seemed so real. Today's fans create their own stories so why not use that against them? That's how people get shocked. When you watch a movie and you speculate the ending you get sucked in to the product but if the pay off doesn't suffice then the movie sucks. So often WWE get fans invested and then they just push them out the door like an unwanted one night stand. If they managed to keep fans invested and provided a pay off then there would easily be more fans watching today.
Look at it this way, if Commissioner Gordon new that Batman was Bruce Wayne would he use the bat light or just drop a text?

The Smartest Mercenary Alive

Brock Lesnar is the smartest man in pro wrestling right next to Matt Hardy and AJ Styles. He is the guy working his own contract exactly how he chooses to and gets paid a S*** ton to do so. WWE paid Brock Lesnar 5 million dollars to sign for two years and now suddenly the two years comes to an end the night after Wrestlemania. WWE is up the creek and Brock is standing watching while he snaps the oar over his knee.
In the last two weeks it became common knowledge that Brock and Vince argued backstage to the point where people were concerned for Vince. No one really knows what the argument was a bout and if someone claims to know please ignore them. Many have said it was about money while others say it was Roman Reigns failing a drug test. BROCK DOESN'T CARE and why should he? He knows he is the money. Vince may as well follow this guy with his wallet and just pay for everything for him. Brock Lesnar is in the main event of Wrestlemania against who we all believe to be the next golden poster boy of the company Roman Reigns. Now if you were Brock Lesnar and you knew you could be leaving the night after Reigns possibly beats you what is the first thing you do? You prove your worth.
Last week Brock Lesnar did just that by proving he is still a name that every household can recognize by showing up to a UFC PPV and was seen on camera talking to Dana White. Is this not just the best bargaining chip? Brock just guaranteed that WWE would up their offer. Not to mention the fact that if fans see him doing this then they are going to start their own rumors and cause a fuss. All Brock needs now is to receive offers from UFC and Bellator and he has Vince's grapefruits in hand.
Brock Lesnar could easily leave WWE and have a more than comfortable life. But he won't. Many behind the scenes still believe that Brock will re-sign with WWE and that he will continue to have the same kind of schedule he is currently on. This is not a bad thing. I can already hear fans moaning on twitter but what if, what if Brock re-signs and beats Reigns to retain at mania? What option do you prefer then? Reigns as champ, a champ who a lot of you believe is undeserving and green or a champ who is rarely there? I know what I prefer from those two options. But there is a third option. What if the whole thing is a work by HHH, Brock and Paul Heyman? Wouldn't it get fans behind Reigns if Brock threatens to leave with the belt that he rarely shows up with anyway? Imagine Brock left and goes to UFC for a year but upon returning to UFC programming he does a Madusa and trashes the belt and denounces the WWE as garbage.
*note for this to work Vince needs to agree to Brocks terms of working for both UFC and WWE and Reigns would have to lose at Wrestlemania*

The Goal
34 days. 816 hours. 48960 minutes. This is the length of time WWE have to make Reigns vs Brock work. While this isn't a long time it's certainly more than enough to procure a final goal and make it work.
Mark Calaway has stated several times that he wanted to go out the same way that his mentors did and that was by giving a rub to an up and coming star. This was what lead to the confusion among fans last year when he lost to Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania and the streak was destroyed. Fans believed that that would be Undertakers last match and that Brock was "unworthy" also. So now that the time has come that Brock could possibly lose the title to Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania (note the possibly there) fans feel cheated. However, when you think this clearly the plan for almost the last year and 6 months or so, this would mean Undertaker gets what he wanted. He made Brock Lesnar look unstoppable. A destroyer. The one in twenty one. This has now left the opportunity that Roman Reigns could be the one to beat the one in twenty one and look like a cemented main eventer.
Last night at Fast Lane the WWE did what they needed to do and ignored the multitude of fans who were against the idea of Roman Reigns going forward to face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania. Many had the idea that Daniel Bryan is more deserving than Reigns and that he should play the underdog to the behemoth that is Brock Lesnar. Now while this idea is noble and it shows that the IWC (who claim to be the smart fans) can see that Daniel Bryan is an accomplished athlete who has paid his dues in wrestling and should more than rightfully take his place at the helm of the Wrestlemania main event, it doesn't help the fact that WWE had no new "star power" stars.
By this I do not mean Daniel Bryan can not pull money to a ppv but what I do mean is that it is time to build new stars. New faces of the company. Daniel Bryan is an already established star and there is no denying that (just ask his adoring fans) but Roman Reigns is currently the rising star. The star that WWE believes can take the wheel from John Cena, their current poster boy, and continue taking WWE on the long road to a continuously profitable future.
In order to make a new star you need to push a rising star. Daniel Bryan doesn't need to be pushed any more because he is at the top of his game and the pinnacle of his popularity. Roman Reigns on the other hand needs to be elevated in order to reach the level WWE plan for him to be. Many will be feeling he is unworthy of beating the man who broke the streak as this would be "disrespectful" to Undertaker in the eyes of a vast majority of fans but this is what Undertaker wanted.

Now please don't misconstrue this as me saying Undertaker is giving Roman Reigns the rub. This is me acknowledging the fact that WWE has now has built two stars ready to go. This year Undertaker faces Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania and Brock Lesnar faces Roman Reigns. Doesn't this seem like a much more acceptable route to take? A new face. A new heel. A new generation. Reigns and Wyatt were always going to be WWEs next big stars coming out of NXT alongside Rollins and Ambrose so does it not seem wise that WWE should ensure they have a future to lean towards? Yes Bryan could have beat the guy who beat the streak but Daniel Bryan may not be in WWE much longer. We have already seen his neck injured and cost him 9 months of wrestling time. He is now 34, Cena is 37 and Reigns is 29. WWE have given this push to Reigns because he is the guy with longevity, He is the guy who will be around for longer than another 5 years. He is the guy who is getting the most beneficial rub. WWE have ensured their own place in the future by doing this.
In short WWE has made sure at Wrestlemania that;
- Daniel Bryan faces a rising star
- Roman Reigns gets a push regardless of a win or a loss at Mania
- Undertaker gives Bray Wyatt the rub he wanted before retiring next year
But hey, lets just let WWE forget about business for a while.

Where The Grapefruits Turn Sour
WWE have backed themselves into a corner again. Much like last year they have caved into what the smark heavy crowds of todays product want. It's becoming common knowledge now that there was plans in the work for Bryan vs Sheamus 3. This, by the way, could have easily been the top match of Wrestlemania this year but the fans as per their usual followed their spoiled brat tendencies and had to moan. This has lead to what I believe will be Vince McMahon's final year in full control of the WWE product. I realize this sounds like a very bold, sweeping statement but let's look at the facts shall we?
Vince McMahon is getting old
As a man who has taken years upon years of self inflicted stress, wrestling injuries and of course a double quad tear it's fair to say that Vince is a tough S.O.B but he is getting old. Vince turns 70 this year and to be honest he looks damn good for it all things considered. On the outside he still looks charismatic and charming at times but on the inside can we really say the same? It's no joke when you consider how much Vince does at his age but it can't be good for him. We have seen Jerry Lawler have a heart attack on live television and his current job listing is much lighter than a man who is a self proclaimed workaholic and control freak. How long can Vince seriously run the show?
Vince McMahon doesn't know his own product anymore
Over the past few weeks it has become abundantly clear that Vince is losing touch with the current trends and the current way the wrestling product should run. Now please forgive me for saying this but honestly we know less than a fraction about wrestling compared to Vince but that doesn't excuse the fact his pop-culture knowledge is atrocious. When was the last time a fart joke was funny? When was the last time making your own daughter (heiress to your machine) throw up on TV was good publicity? When was the last time adding "suffering suchertache" to a promo a good idea? You all know fine well he wrote those promos. But when you add this to the fact that Vince has slowly began to change his own mind on the product its quite clear he doesn't understand his own fans anymore. WWE used to be about giving fans what they want and knowing what they would want before they did but now it's about trying to slip the guy who you feel will benefit the company most into the limelight regardless as to whether it's who the fans want to see. Vince doesn't get it.

It's clear that Vince still sees WWE as the top of the mountain but he is scared by those who have the power to climb to the top without him. NXT is a HHH product and that became clear as of this past Monday when HHH and Austin spoke on the network. The WWE provides a "sports entertainment product" and this is something they constantly re-enforce by ensuring they don't use the word "wrestling". Wrestling, however, is what NXT does best and fans know it. So many groups of fans are turning to the darkside so to say and enjoying a product that is primarily wrestling. This is clearly an intimidating thing for Vince. He is in competition with his own company and if a younger fresher model manages to work then surely the shareholders will notice this. The interesting thing will be to see if NXT gets a Wrestlemania match this year especially since the network has gave it such a large following.
Vince lost his grapefruits
There was a time when Vinnie was the ballsiest person known to television but now he has began letting the great grapefruits of old shrivel up into prunes. Vinnie was literally the higher power, he was the guy who attacked his workers, he was the boss from hell. Basically Vince McMahon was god. But now he is afraid of fan reaction. He caved into the "YES movement" and changed a whoel wrestlemania main event just to change the crowd reaction. Vince McMahon of 99 wouldn't have done that. So what changed?
Also what else does Vince McMahon have left to prove? Absolutely nothing. He has done it, seen it and lived it all. He has reached the golden gates but now he just needs to let go to receive the keys to enter. Vince McMahon will always be "Then. Now. Forever." the greatest mind in professional wrestling in the eyes of historians but he needs to leave before we see that fade.

The Road To Wrestlemania
Monday night is the start of it all. The beginning of the road to wrestlemania. In theory this is the time of the year that WWE goes into over drive and gives us the best quality product they can with whatever roster they have. Old guys come back, new guys get pushes and stories get depth but most importantly is that fans become crazed psycho marks who believe they are never wrong and deserve the best on golden platter.
Fact is you dont. You don't deserve it. This is WWEs time to entice new viewers and bring in the pennies to their rich little pockets. Stock holders demand income and income doesn't always mean giving the long term marks and smarks what they want or feel they deserve. New stars will be pushed so that younger generations can begin making a name for themselves and this will sometimes mean disappointing the smarks. I'm pointing the finger at you Reigns haters. But when we really look into the mind of a fan this is when fantasy bookers get the biggest god damn erection they have ever had.
Fantasy booking is at its peak during Wrestlemania season and I don't mean the crap about the night after mania because that's just another excuse for WWE to hang you by your feet until whatever change you have left from your over priced t-shirt that you purchased at the merch stand at mania drops into their melting pot. No. Fantasy bookers love this time of year because 90% of them look at spoilers and dirtsheets and believe that because a few rumours are there that they will write up every match and call every story line. Oh and here's the punch line. THEY THEN CALL WWE PREDICTABLE. Know why it's predictable? Because you read the sheets asshole.
Want to make Mania even better for yourself? Don't have high expectations, don't fantasy book and most importantly don't read the damn sheets.
Wrestlemania should be about spectacle and surprise not about who guessed what right. (SAYING THIS WE ALL FANTASY BOOK AND I REALISE ITS HARD NOT TO) Someties though its good to take a backseat and get taken along for the ride. Remember what it was like as a kid seeing your favourite star win on the big stage and not know if they could over come the bad guy? You can still get that feeling by just ensuring you don't assume you already know the winner to a match. Take last years Royal Rumble for example. Everyone assumed that Daniel Bryan would be number 30 in the rumble match and when it never happened everyone was up in arms. This is the perfect example of fans ruining the show for themselves. Plus taking into account the fact we all knew Batista was returning due to the dirtsheets and spoilers everywhere didnt help.
The point is, Wrestlemania is what you make of it. You can either have your wrestling christmas like all the good little marks or you can be the jackass smark who searches through his presents the week before christmas only to go spit in his parents face and say they bought the wrong things. Choice is yours.

They Rise Only To Fall
*EDITORS NOTE - dont miss the season premier of #LoWdown on Wednesday at 6pm est*
Missing the Boat...much like those dwarves did in the second installment of the Hobbit.
WWE missed the boat when it came to the debut of the Ascension. The Ascension while they were in NXT was the team to beat. They held the NXT Tag Titles for 364 days. In all outings I saw them in they were booked to be pretty much unbeatable; chewing through their opponents like a meat grinder working on a prime cut of beef. (I will point out that I am talking about the current incarnation of the Ascension – Connor (aka Conor O’Brian) and Viktor (aka Rick Victor); not all that original but hey...). Their coup de grace was the Fall of Man which consists of a leg sweep from Connor and a Jumping European uppercut from Viktor. And as that 364 day reign would indicate...many men fell to the Fall of Man; so in a word it is effective. There were those in the IWC who were chomping at the bit to see the Ascension move up from NXT to the main roster of WWE; I was one of those people. I was interested to see what would happen with them. But like the saying goes...be careful what you wish for...you just might get it.
The Ascension debut...on December 29, 2014. Who debuts a new act over the Christmas/New Year season? WHO DOES THIS? WWE does this. So I missed the debut...but thanks to the wonders of the internet I did find the time to watch it...and as their opponents we got Miz and Mizdow.
This was a blink and you miss it match, where more time was devoted to the entrance then there was to the match...speaking of which...
What is it up with that entrance? The Eye of Horus superimposed over Illuminati imagery; which if any of you know your stuff about this would know that it’s pretty much a contradiction. The Eye of Horus is associated with the ancient Egyptian Sun God Ra (Horus was an ancient Egyptian Sky God) and one of the Illuminati’s goals was to oppose religious influence over public life (if you believe what is posted on Wikipedia). Anyway moving on...
This past Monday on Raw we saw the Ascension in action again; this time against two jobbers...and not even main roster jobbers like Zack Ryder and Curtis Axel; it was two local jobbers; one of which bared a striking resemblance to a well known – suppose to be funny, but is in fact obnoxious – lady from Film and TV. Before this lame brain match WWE had Conor and Viktor cut a promo...yea gads...no two men on the entire roster would be better suited to have a mouth piece like Paul Heyman or Zeb Colter than Conor and Viktor because these two boys suck when it comes to cutting a promo.
And just who wrote that promo? The Road Warriors (LoD) and Demolition are still treasured factions amongst the IWC and Talent alike. This promo might have seemed like a work, but it rang like a shoot.

I have to agree with Animal; if you are going to do this, then get him involved somehow. Even if he’s not in-ring worthy, have him get a proxy team to face off against the Ascension. Cheap heat tactics are what heels are all about it, but you need a great talker to pull it off and these two guys are not that, that and you need the guys getting ripped on to come out and fight back.
I know most people are thinking that we cannot give a definitive analysis on Conor and Viktor after only two matches; however I think we can based on previous experiences with NXT personal that have been moved up to the main roster in recent months (the Shield and the Wyatts notwithstanding, and Kidd was a member of the main roster with Smith and Nattie as the Hart Dynasty long before he was on NXT as a solo man).
So my analysis is as follows...The Ascension is a misnomer...for ascension means to ascend...to rise up...for Conor and Viktor...they are in line to be sent to the fiery pits of Mount Doom riding on the tail of Smaug.

Lambey Zayns Road To Wrestlemania
*NOTE FROM LEVELLER - DONT MISS THE SEASON DEBUT OF LoWDOWN ON THE 14TH OF JANUARY AT 6PM EST ON YOUTUBE AND GOOGLE HANGOUTS LIVE.*
So today I’m going to be discussing the card for Wrestlemania as it is expected to be, and how I believe it should be.
As most people in the IWC are aware, there it is incredibly likely that we will get Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns in the main event of Wrestlemania. The WWE want Reigns as their new golden boy, so this all makes sense. However, the question must be asked, is this best for business? As Daniel Bryan used to say – NO, NO, NO!
I am a fan of Reigns, but the man is simply not ready to take the gold, and doing so would be a waste of Lesnar, the man who conquered the streak. What else could happen? Well I’m glad you asked.
In the Royal Rumble, we are expected to see John Cena vs Lesnar vs Rollins for the WWE title. Have Randy Orton cost Rollins the title, forcing him to enter into the rumble match. Reigns should dominate the match, until Rollins calls upon J&J security to eliminate Reigns. While Rollins celebrates, Ambrose should eliminate Rollins, leading to a feud between the 3.
Dean Ambrose VS Seth Rollins VS Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 31. This seems like a good match people will want to see. No Stipulations, no titles involved, just a heavy story involvement, returning to HIAC (with Ambrose and Rollins never finishing their match) and the shield breakup storyline.
So what should be the main event of Wrestlemania? I say it should be a match that we should have had a long time ago – Daniel Bryan vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Daniel Bryan is still one of the most popular WWE superstars, despite a lengthy absence from the company due to injury. What better way to light the fire than have Daniel Bryan vs The Beast.
Next is Sting Vs Triple H, which I believe will happen and should.
Finally we are expected to see Wyatt vs Undertaker. This match is an interesting concept that could see Wyatt absorbing the Undertakers power (thanks to the urn and the really creepy talking that Wyatt did at HIAC). He could then move away from the cult leader / crazy person and into a more fitting goal, the guard of the gates of hell itself. A demon that takes the souls of the damned and the lost (and keeps them in his lovely little lantern), allowing him to move away from his current generic promo’s and allowing him to explore new territory, while keeping the creepy and slightly insane gimmick and adding depth. He can throw in sister Abigail and talk about how she always knew he was meant for this.
This could be an incredibly strong Wrestlemania card to allow for greater growth to come out of it, IF (and only if) the WWE focus on the story behind these feuds (along with others). There should be no senseless matches, no bad video packages, etc. All of these stories and characters have the potential to draw interest, and should be treated as such.

What If.....

So right now there is a big selection of "What If" questions within the IWC but hey it's almost time for the Royal Rumble so that's nothing new. But I want to get into one question that seems to have slipped most peoples minds until I mentioned it on twitter the other day;
What if we get Roman Reigns vs John Cena at Wrestlemania 31?
I mean this could be a seriously big thing. No one feels that Reigns is ready for Brock, let alone the main event of mania. And let me be honest, I like Reigns and I do not doubt for a single second that he will be THE guy in time but that time will not happen until he is ready.
Now as far as things are looking WWE has a few options. Reigns cant win the Rumble now that Daniel Bryan has announced he will enter the Rumble or else he will be booed out of the building ala Batista. Bryan winning the Rumble will give us Bryan/Lesnar so I suggest the following situation.
Cena barely loses to Lesnar and as a condolence prize The Authority inform Cena he can have a free entry spot to the Rumble. Cena accepts and discovers its the Number One spot. He seems disheartened but enters anyway. The final four comes down to Rusev, Reigns, Cena and Bryan. The four go at it and outta no where Lesnars music hits. Reigns who is about to eliminate Rusev gets distracted and Rusev exits via the bottom rope and Lana decides its time to leave. Rusev exits as Lesnar approaches the ring. Bryan gets hit with an AA and is down. Cena and Reigns begin to fight but Brock gets into the ring and breaks both men down. Bryan gets back up and begins kicking Lesnar as hard as he can but Lesnar fights back and nails Bryan with an F5. He then grabs Cena and gives him an F5 and lays him next to Bryan. Reigns manages to hit a Superman Punch on Lesnar but Lesnar only stumbles before fighting back. Reigns gets got with a big punch and then Lesnar hits him with a ground and pound until Vince makes an entrance. Vince decides things have gone to far and demands the referees try pull Lesnar out the ring. Lesnar leaves and all three men lay in a pile in the centre of the ring. Vince declares there is no winner as no one is fit to compete. Cena has taken two beatings from Lesnar, Reigns took an extensive beating until he bleeds and Bryan is just back from injury.
Next night on RAW Vince announces there will be a three way at Fast Lane to see who faces Lesnar. Bryan, Cena or Reigns. The match will be held in a Cell in order to ensure no one interferes and the two losers will face off at mania in a match. Vince then calls out HHH and tells him that he needs to stop being so insolent as a boss. He tells him that he has seen enough and that he is not happy with the way he runs the company and that the shareholders want him gone. This leads to team authority vs team vince for ownership of WWE. HHH tells Vince that he has better things to do like deal with vigilantes such as Sting and prevent them from running a muck in his company. Stephanie steps up for team authority and states that she will choose a team. During this month Cena keeps reminding both men he is the measuring stick and he constantly reminds Reigns he is the new blood who has to prove himself. Bryan reminds everyone how he defeated The Authority single handed yadda yadda.
Fast Lane comes around and the main event happens. Lesnar makes an entrance near the end of the match with HHH by his side. Both men begin tearing at the cell door but Stings music hits and he appears behind HHH. HHH and Sting brawl to the back and Lesnar finally gets into the cell. He destroys both Cena and Reigns before hitting an F5 on Bryan and dragging Bryans limp carcass onto Cena and forces the ref to make the pin. Bryan goes on to face Lesnar while Cena faces Reigns at Mania.
HHH explains on RAW that he and Lesnar cut a deal that Lesnar would use help Bryan get the pin in order to then humiliate Bryan and attempt to end his career at Mania because HHH paid him to as he is still wanting revenge on Daniel Bryan. Its wrestling. Don't tell me you don't think that idea wouldn't happen cause it's been done before *HHH vs Goldberg before survivor series 2003*.

During this month Cena keeps reminding both men he is the measuring stick and he constantly reminds Reigns he is the new blood who has to prove himself. Bryan reminds everyone how he defeated The Authority single handed yadda yadda.
Fast Lane comes around and the main event happens. Lesnar makes an entrance near the end of the match with HHH by his side. Both men begin tearing at the cell door but Stings music hits and he appears behind HHH. HHH and Sting brawl to the back and Lesnar finally gets into the cell. He destroys both Cena and Reigns before hitting an F5 on Bryan and dragging Bryans limp carcass onto Cena and forces the ref to make the pin. Bryan goes on to face Lesnar while Cena faces Reigns at Mania.
HHH explains on RAW that he and Lesnar cut a deal that Lesnar would use help Bryan get the pin in order to then humiliate Bryan and attempt to end his career at Mania because HHH paid him to as he is still wanting revenge on Daniel Bryan. Its wrestling. Don't tell me you don't think that idea wouldn't happen cause it's been done before *HHH vs Goldberg before survivor series 2003*.
So in summary this leads to;
- Team Vince (headed by whatever legend/babyface) vs Team Authority (headed by Rollins)
- Reigns vs Cena in a match where Reigns proves he can be just as good as Cena (old school torch passing)
- Bryan vs Lesnar with Paul Heyman and HHH
- HHH vs Sting
